Rocker again
Here’s the faulty rocker again.
It doesn’t look bad, but what would it look like after 500km? or 5000km? who knows?

Clutch is in place, finally.
Sorry, no pics, I seem to forget my camera every time.
Had to use some of the old steel plates to make the pack height suitable for the JTR slipper. Someday I’ll have Juha explain the pack thickness thing in more detail. Basically he did some testing and experimenting on his SP1 - JTR clutch and found out that the stock SP1 pack was too tall for the JTR, so he took one plate off and now it’s perfect.
Riding season has gotten an early start here in Finland, I’ve seen a lot of bikes in recent days. Unfortunately mine is not one of them, but I’m getting there.. and the temperatures aren’t that high yet.
Here are the half moons, or what ever you want to call them.
3,00 EUR a piece, total 16 pieces.
Clutch is almost done, pics later..
So, here we go again:
I checked the cams and the rockers again and noticed something bad in two of them.
These are the rear cylinder’s intake openers.

Closer: (this is the one on the right, when facing forward)

So, it seems that this one is gone. but, luckily, the bad part is not on the surface, where the cam touches the rocker. To be honest, I am not sure, if I should change this _immediately_ or not. (Yes it will be changed eventually, but do I need to change it _now_?)
and again: (this is left side)

Looks like this is the next one to let go.
Have to keep an eye out for these too (the closers)

I also noticed, that you can remove the intake cams for inspection easily. I did not remove the exhaust cams, I think they won’t come out so easily, just nudged them a little to get a better view of the rockers, all seemed fine (except the ones shown above, of course).
Still have to measure the gaps, which, again, is a pain in the a$$. The openers are easy, but the closing gap is a tough one. I did measure a few of the openers and I think they have grown since last winter.. damn, I don’t want to get in to the adjusting stuff… Oh, BTW; I called the local dealer and asked for the price of the ‘half-moon-rings’, that hold the adjusting shims on the valve: ~8 EUR a piece, total of 16 on the bike. I wonder how much the shims are?
I am waiting info from Ben on how much the half moons are in Germany.
Oh, and the clutch is not yet mounted..
Here’s how the old looked:

This is what the new ones will look like (just trying one on for size, no pads etc.)

this is now on. Clutch is still missing. :p

Nothing much else to report. Unfortunately. I will try to do more with the clutch, in the near future.
